Privacy Policy

We built Vehicle Inspect Check so people can check a car before they buy it. To do that we need a few details from you. We would rather be upfront about exactly which ones, what we do with them, and what we never do with them. That is what this page is for. It is written in plain English on purpose.

Who we are

Vehicle Inspect Check is operated by Vara Lakshmi LLC. We produce digital vehicle history reports for customers in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, and everything we do runs through our website at vehicleinspectcheck.com.

When this page says "we" or "us", that is who we mean. When it says "you", we mean anyone who visits the site or orders a report.

What we collect

We only ask for what we actually need to get your report to you. In practice that is:

• Your name and email address. This is so we know where to send the finished report and how to reach you if something needs clarifying.
• Vehicle details. Usually a VIN, sometimes a licence plate. This is what the whole report is built from.
• Order and billing references. The order number, the amount, and a confirmation from PayPal or Stripe that the payment went through.
• Basic technical data. Your IP address, browser and device type. This is standard web-server information and it mostly helps us spot fraud and fix bugs.

How we use it

Your information is used for the following, and nothing beyond it:

• Producing and delivering the vehicle report you ordered.
• Sending order confirmations, delivery notifications and replies to support questions.
• Checking that an order is genuine and protecting the site against fraud and abuse.
• Understanding which parts of the site people struggle with, so we can improve them.
• Meeting our tax, accounting and legal obligations.

We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not add you to a marketing list because you bought a report.

Cookies and tracking

Cookies are small files your browser stores. We use them to keep your order details in place while you move between pages, to remember preferences, and to collect anonymous statistics about how the site is used.

You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. If you do, the site will still work, though a checkout you have already started may not carry over between pages.

Third-party content

Some pages may embed content from other services, such as a Google Map or a video player. Once that content loads, the service behind it can set its own cookies and see your activity exactly as if you had visited it directly. Their privacy policies apply to that content, not ours.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal information, and we never share it for marketing. A limited amount of data goes to a small number of providers who help us run the service:

• Payment processors. PayPal and Stripe, so your payment can be taken securely.
• Email and hosting providers. These are what get the report into your inbox.
• Security and fraud-prevention services. These keep fraudulent orders off the platform.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, for example in response to a valid legal request from a regulator or court.

How long we keep it

1. Order and transaction records are kept for up to seven years, because tax and accounting rules require it.
2. Support emails are kept while the query is open and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you come back to us about it.
3. Anonymous website statistics contain nothing that identifies you and may be kept indefinitely.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights. In practice we try to honour them for everyone, wherever they are:

• Access. Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction. Ask us to fix anything that is wrong or out of date.
• Deletion. Ask us to erase your details, except where we are legally required to keep a record.
• Objection. Tell us to stop using your data in a particular way.
• Portability. Ask for your data in a format you can take elsewhere.

Email us and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge for a reasonable request.

How we protect your data

The site runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection, access to customer records is limited to the people who need it to do their job, and payment handling is left entirely to certified processors. No system on the internet is completely risk-free, but if a breach ever affected your personal data we would tell you and the relevant authority without delay.

Children's privacy

Our service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete the record.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and move the "last updated" date at the top. Where a change is significant, we will say so clearly rather than quietly editing a line.
